Front Porch Gift Co. is a full-service, boutique gifting service based in Colorado Springs, Colorado specializing in the art of meaningful gift giving, whether it be personal or professional. Owners Lauren Kinder and Brooke Waldo are devoted to sharing quality goods from Colorado small businesses and makers. Thoughtfully curated and carefully packaged, all items in Front Porch gift boxes are sourced from outstanding Colorado businesses!
THE PROBLEM
Lauren and Brooke had outgrown their DIY Shopify website and were looking to upgrade the design of their website scale their business using the power of Shopify’s retail ecosystem. When they approached us, they had an amazing collection of curated gift boxes, but wanted to engage customers with a build-your-own box feature that allowed customers to be the curators. Also, as their corporate gifting service was gaining momentum, Lauren and Brooke searched for solutions that streamlined the process of creating and managing bulk orders of gifts for them and their clients.
THE STRATEGY
To improve front-end design, we approached the website with empathy for customers in search of unique gifts for different occasions. Starting with navigation, we organized the products into collections based on product type, recipient interests, and gifting occasion to simplify their search and facilitate an enjoyable journey of discovery.
While adding a build-your-own box feature, we created an inventory management system that supported accurate reporting of individual products. We connected the individual product inventory to the pre-curated box inventory to ensured pre-curated gift box products were not oversold when customers curated their own gift boxes.
When we added a corporate client portal, we created a new page that explained the service, allowed new clients to apply for corporate accounts, and customized a separate client portal that allowed managers to create accounts, manage purchases, add team members, and centralize payment accounts and invoicing.
THE RESULTS
Front Porch’s new website has given customers and corporate clients an improved and expanded experience to Front Porch’s gifting services. Front Porch’s orders have increased by 28% and sales have increased by 99% from the previous year. Lauren and Brooke have more time and flexibility to source new items, make more connections with corporate clients, and spend time with their families while enjoying sustainable business growth.
